Impa 1412 KELA RUST Rust Converter – Rust Inhibitor (1 L)

Impa 1412 KELA RUST is a milky liquid formula designed to chemically convert rust into a blackish-blue/blackish-purple layer that strongly adheres to the metal surface, preventing further corrosion. This robust organic metal complex halts the rusting process and serves as an ideal foundation for additional coatings. It is recommended for any metal substrates or automotive body parts where mechanical rust removal is not feasible or insufficient.
It can be applied by brush, roller, or air-spray gun. Proper surface cleaning is crucial—remove loose rust particles, grease, and other contaminants before use. The product works best at approximately 20°C and requires moderate drying conditions (avoid direct sunlight or overly hot surfaces to prevent premature drying). Recoating is possible after at least 3 hours, but the reaction benefits from some moisture. Any type of topcoat may be used within 6–7 days of application.

• Surface Preparation: Remove oil, grease, dust, and loose rust. If heavily contaminated or salt-laden, wash thoroughly with water before application. Can be applied to damp surfaces.
• Application:
  • Spray Gun: 1.5–1.7 mm nozzle at 2–3 bar pressure
  • Brush or roller
  • Can be thinned with water, do not add solvents!
• Drying Time (at 20°C): approx. 30 minutes; recoatable after 3 hours.
• Notes: Avoid metal containers or tools. Do not return any used or leftover product containing rust particles to the original container. Protect from direct sunlight and excessive heat during drying, as the reaction requires some moisture.
