Product Description:
The 2K Epoxy Primer FP401 is a chromate and lead-free product designed for direct-to-metal (DTM) applications. It provides excellent corrosion protection and can be air-dried or cured in a chamber. Ideal for industrial repainting applications, it ensures OEM quality and can achieve factory original colors.

Surfaces:

• Steel, iron, stainless steel (sandblasted), galvanized steel, cast iron, aluminum, fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
• For plastic surfaces, perform adhesion tests and use a plastic primer if necessary.

Surface Preparation:
For sandblasted surfaces, EN ISO 12944 and Sa 2.5 values should be followed. For galvanized surfaces, sandblasting should be superficial. Use P80 or P240 sandpaper with an orbital sander, depending on whether you are applying dry (sanding) or wet-on-wet technology. Surface durability is largely dependent on preparation quality.

Surface Cleaning:
The surface must be dry and free from oil, grease, or other contaminants. Degrease the surface with metal cleaner, solvent-based thinner, silicone remover, or industrial solvent-based degreaser.

Repainting:
Can be repainted with Valspar Industrial Mixing System: IME.TB4xx Epoxy Topcoat Resin, IME.TB5xx PU Topcoat Resin.
